How to Book a Tennis Court in Taipei: Public Courts in Taipei and New Taipei, Fees and Cancellation Rules
By Flex Tennis Taiwan ·
Flex Tennis Taiwan put this guide together. We run a flexible-scheduling tennis league in Taipei where players book courts themselves with their opponents, so we collected how to book the public courts most used in Taipei and New Taipei in one place. Every rule and fee comes from the operators' public pages, with the check date at the end; check the latest official notices before you book. Our screenshots show the Chinese versions of these pages, so we give the Chinese names and on-screen labels next to the English to help you match what you see.
The short answer
The riverside and park tennis courts run by the Taipei City Sports Department (臺北市政府體育局) are all listed on 「臺北市政府體育局場地租借系統 2.0」 ("Taipei City Sports Department venue booking system 2.0", called Booking System 2.0 below). On the day we checked, only some riverside courts could be booked online, and every park court was marked as not open for online booking. Riverside courts open for online booking once in each half of the year, for the following half-year: you first register for a lottery, and the slots left after the draw then open for booking. Slots nobody booked, and courts not open for online booking, can be used on a walk-up, take-turns basis with no court fee. To book within the coming week, try 臺北市網球中心 (Taipei Tennis Center), booked by app up to 7 days ahead; 臺北網球場 (Taipei Tennis Court), up to 3 days ahead; or 臺北市新生運動館 (Xinsheng Sports Center) in Zhongshan District, up to 8 days ahead including the day itself, with same-day bookings in person only. New Taipei's riverside courts are managed by 新北市政府高灘地工程管理處 (New Taipei City riverside parks management office, 高灘處 for short) and use a separate online application system.

Taipei riverside and park courts: the Sports Department's Booking System 2.0
A half-year booking cycle
Riverside court slots open half a year at a time. For the July–December 2026 period, online registration ran from 09:00 on April 24 to 18:00 on May 8, the tennis lottery was drawn on May 19, and the slots left after the draw opened for booking at 10:00 on June 5. Registration is capped per account at 2 hours a day, 8 hours a week, and 10 weekdays plus 2 holiday days a month, counted per riverside park. The lottery works in 1-hour units, and hours you register for back to back may not be drawn back to back; winners must also confirm and pay by the deadline, or the system cancels the booking and releases the slot. The Sports Department posts the dates for the next registration and release on the system.

Not every court can be booked online
At many riverside parks only some courts can be booked online, and courts marked 「不開放線上預約使用」 ("not open for online booking") are only for people on site taking turns. At 彩虹河濱公園 (Rainbow Riverside Park), for example, courts 5–8 and 13–17 can be booked online, while courts 1–4 and 9–12 are on-site use only; at 百齡河濱公園 (Bailing Riverside Park) on the 社子 (Shezi) side, courts 1–4 and 8 are also on-site use only. Courts 1 and 2 at 中正河濱公園 (Zhongzheng Riverside Park) are for on-site turns only at night. On the day we checked, the park courts in the system (such as 南港公園 Nangang Park, 玉成公園 Yucheng Park and 碧湖公園 Bihu Park) were all marked as not open for online booking. The per-court settings in the system when we checked apply to October–December 2026, so look at the venue page before you book.
The walk-up rule is simple: slots nobody has booked are for people on site to use in turns. On its 大佳河濱公園 (Dajia Riverside Park) court page, the Sports Department says that when a court isn't booked it is 「先到先用」 ("first come, first served"), and when people are waiting, players take turns of no more than 30 minutes each. These slots carry no court fee or lighting fee.
Booking steps
The screenshots and manual pages below show the system in Chinese, so each step quotes the Chinese label you will see.
- Register as a member. Personal accounts register with an email address; club accounts enter a unified business number (統一編號). Member settings include an option to link 台北通 (TaipeiPASS), labelled 「綁定台北通」.
- Find a court. The home page panel 「快速搜尋適合您的場地」 ("quick search for a venue") filters by rental type, district, sport and rental date.
Figure: The Booking System 2.0 home page, where you search for a venue by rental type, district, sport and rental date. Source: Booking System 2.0, screenshot taken October 9, 2026.
Figure: Search results after choosing 網球 (tennis) as the sport. Each court is tagged 「尚可租借」 (available) or 「未開放租借」 (not open for booking); at Rainbow Riverside Park, courts 5–8 and 13–17 are available. Source: Booking System 2.0: find a venue, screenshot taken October 9, 2026. - Check which courts are open and what they cost. Open the venue to see its usage rules and fees: only courts marked 「開放線上預約付費使用」 ("open for paid online booking") can be booked online, and courts marked 「不開放線上預約使用」 are for on-site turns only. At Rainbow Riverside Park, for example, the rate is NT$140 per hour by day and at night, with night lighting charged separately at NT$80 per hour, and courts 13–16 are open only until 17:00.

Source: Booking System 2.0: Rainbow Riverside Park, screenshot taken October 9, 2026. - Submit your application. Once you've picked a court, click 「場租租借」 ("rent a venue"), fill in the required fields and click 「直接申請租借」 ("apply directly"), tick the box agreeing to the venue terms, enter the SMS verification code, then click 「確認申請」 ("confirm application").
Figure: Pages 46 and 48 of the Booking System 2.0 manual: 「直接申請租借」, the terms checkbox, the SMS verification code and 「確認申請」 (the manual's sample phone number is blacked out). Source: Sports Department Booking System 2.0 user manual, screenshot taken October 9, 2026. - Pay. The Sports Department's 2022 fee explainer (written when bookings still ran on the old system) says that once your order is approved you get a payment-notice email and pay by ATM transfer or through the Taipei City Government smart payment platform (臺北市政府智慧支付平台); the old system's Q&A lists physical ATM, online ATM and credit card. The two documents say different things and both predate Booking System 2.0, so go by the payment options the system shows you. Both the application and the payment must be completed at least 10 days before the use date, or 3 days before in an emergency or a case of force majeure.
- Show the notice at the court. Once your booking is complete, the Sports Department provides a 「同意使用公告」 (permission-to-use notice) that you can show or post at the court.
You can view or cancel orders under 「會員專區」 (member area) > 「場租租借記錄」 (rental records). If you have questions, the venue rental hotline is (02)2570-2330, extensions 5479, 6548, 6199, 6546 and 6588, Monday to Friday 08:30–17:30.
Cancellation, rain and refunds
Unless the cause is not attributable to you, getting the court fee back requires cancelling in writing to the Sports Department at least 10 days before the use date; if you don't cancel in writing by then, the prepaid court fee is not refunded. If heavy rain, a power cut or broken equipment stops you from playing after you've paid, you can apply for a refund with supporting proof; time already used is charged by the hour, and less than an hour is not charged. The Sports Department also keeps priority use of the courts and may cancel your booking for city government or school events or for maintenance.

臺北市網球中心 Taipei Tennis Center (Neihu)
The Taipei Tennis Center is at No. 208, Section 6, Minquan East Road, Neihu District (內湖區民權東路六段208號) and is open 06:00–22:00 every day. Members of the public can book a court within 7 days of the use date in the LOHAS 智慧健身雲 ("LOHAS smart fitness cloud") app; when you register, enter company code FH and use your real name. After booking in the app, pay by card online within 10 minutes or the booking is cancelled automatically. You can also book by phone for courts 1 to 7 days ahead (D-1 to D-7) on extensions 801 and 802, and pay at the center no later than 3 days before the use date; if you book within 3 days of the use date, pay at the center or in the app on the day you call.
Figure: Taipei Tennis Center app booking instructions: company code FH, bookings within 7 days of the use date, card payment within 10 minutes. Source: Taipei Tennis Center court booking, screenshot taken October 9, 2026.
The outdoor courts are open 06:00–19:00, and peak hours are 17:00–19:00 on weekdays and 13:00–19:00 on holidays. Peak costs NT$600 per court per hour and off-peak NT$300, and lights cost NT$200 per court per hour. On non-holiday days from 08:00 to 17:00, the general public also gets the concession rate of NT$300 per court per hour. Off-peak bookings are 1 hour at a time, peak bookings must take the whole 2-hour block, and each person can book at most 4 hours per time slot per court. The indoor courts count as peak all day and cost NT$2,000 per court per hour.
Figure: Taipei Tennis Center outdoor court fees, peak and off-peak hours, and refund rules. Source: Taipei Tennis Center outdoor courts, screenshot taken October 9, 2026.
Refunds: cancel 3 days before the use date for a full refund; cancelling 2 days before must be done at the counter and costs a 5% fee. For outdoor courts, rain is the only reason for a same-day refund: if it rains before you go on court or within 10 minutes of starting, you get a full refund; after 10 minutes you pay for half an hour, and after 30 minutes for an hour. A paid booking can be changed once, with the request made at least 2 days before. The center closes when Taipei City announces a suspension of work. Private coaching needs an advance application and the center's approval, and company bookings, events and competitions go through extension 819 and can't be booked in the app.
臺北網球場 Taipei Tennis Court (Songshan)
臺北網球場 (Taipei Tennis Court; not to be confused with the Taipei Tennis Center above) is a Sports Department venue run by a contractor, at No. 6, Section 4, Nanjing East Road, Songshan District (松山區南京東路四段6號). It has 6 standard hard courts with night lighting and is open 06:00–22:00 every day except Lunar New Year's Eve and the first day of the Lunar New Year. Courts must be booked in advance, up to 3 days ahead, in one of two ways:
- The 臺北網球場 app: register as a member, buy points at the courts during opening hours, then book with the points; 500 points are valid for 6 months and 1,000 points for 1 year. Each account can book at most 1 hour a day, in half-court units, so two players only need to book half a court.
- LINE: book courts up to 3 days ahead, 1 hour maximum, and pay cash at the courts.
Figure: Taipei Tennis Court app and LINE booking instructions (up to 3 days ahead, 1 hour per account per day). Source: Taipei Tennis Court: booking a court, screenshot taken October 9, 2026.
You can pay per person or per court: daytime (06:00–18:00) costs NT$125 per person per hour or NT$500 per court, and evening (18:00–22:00) costs NT$200 per person per hour or NT$800 per court. Once the lights are on, the night rate applies. A court booked by fewer than 4 players stays open for others to book.
Figure: Taipei Tennis Court fees and court rules (per person or per court; lights on means the night rate). Source: Taipei Tennis Court: fees, screenshot taken October 9, 2026.
The two pages give different cancellation deadlines: the booking instructions say "at least a day before", with no same-day cancellation except for rain, while the fee page says "at least 3 hours before". Check with the courts directly when you book. If it rains before you go on court, you get a full refund, but there's no refund once you've started; if water is standing on the court, players must arrive 10–15 minutes early to push it off.
臺北市新生運動館 Xinsheng Sports Center (Zhongshan)
If you are looking for the tennis courts at "新生運動中心" (Xinsheng Sports Center, the English name we use in this guide), the venue's own name is 「臺北市新生運動館」, and the Sports Department's press release calls it 「新生特色運動館」 ("Xinsheng feature sports venue"). The address is No. 105, Section 3, Xinsheng North Road, Zhongshan District (中山區新生北路3段105號). The Taipei City Sports Department planned and built the venue on the site of the former 新生公園網球場 (Xinsheng Park tennis courts); it began regular operation on August 6, 2026, is open 06:00–22:00 every day, and closes on Lunar New Year's Eve and the first day of the Lunar New Year. The tennis courts are outdoors on 1F and can be shared with the pickleball courts. The venue's seasonal-rental lottery rules list tennis courts 1 and 2; the pages we checked don't say how many courts there are in total or what the surface is, only that the courts are pink and purple.

How to book
The Sports Department points people to the venue's official website for court rental information. The venue takes bookings through its own 「網路預約平台」 (online booking platform), linked as 「課程/場地預約」 ("course/court booking") on its website and with a 「網球」 (tennis) entry, or in person at the front counter.
- How far ahead: the venue's court rental Q&A says you can book online or in person for any day within the next 8 days, including the same day, in whole-hour units.
- Playing today: same-day courts must be booked in person and paid at least 20 minutes before you start.
- Booking online: register as a member first; your login is your national ID number (身分證字號). The booking rules don't say how people without one (for example, players holding an Alien Resident Certificate, 居留證) should register, so ask at the counter first. After a successful booking, pay by card within 10 minutes; the booking only stands once you've paid. The venue decides how many courts are open for booking based on actual use.
- Getting in: after paying, show your invoice (發票) at the counter and you can go on court at your booked time.
- Payment methods: the venue's fee page lists cash, credit card, EasyCard (悠遊卡), U幣 and 運動抵用金 (sports vouchers).
Only the registered renter and the players with them may use the court; reselling court time at a markup or for a cut is banned, and anyone who breaks the rule may have their booking and seasonal-rental eligibility suspended. The venue also bans private coaching and training. Bookings may be suspended while the venue runs events or training, or for city government activities.

Fees
In the 「場地費用參考」 ("court fee reference") section of its seasonal-rental lottery notice, the venue lists the outdoor tennis courts at NT$600 per court per hour off-peak (weekdays 06:00–18:00, weekends and holidays 06:00–12:00) and NT$800 per court per hour at peak (weekdays 18:00–22:00, weekends and holidays 12:00–22:00). The seasonal-rental agreement attached to the notice gives the same prices but lists only Monday–Friday hours. The venue's fee page currently lists badminton courts only and has no tennis row, so for a single booking go by the amount the booking platform or the counter shows. The fee reference in the seasonal notice doesn't list a separate lighting fee either.

Cancellation and rain
To change an online booking, first cancel it under 「我的訂單」 ("my orders"), then take the renter's ID to the service desk to get the refund. The cancellation deadline is stated inconsistently: the rule says to cancel 「前兩日前」 ("two days before"), but the example in the same rule says that for a court booked on May 20 you must cancel online by May 17 (inclusive), so confirm with the counter when you book. Refunds must be collected at the service desk within 7 days of the use date (by May 26, inclusive, in the same example). Asking for a refund without first cancelling online, or not cancelling before the deadline, adds one blacklist mark, and 3 marks bring a 180-day suspension. When Taipei City announces a suspension of work and school, the whole venue closes; if only school is suspended and work goes ahead, it stays open. Seasonal renters whose outdoor sessions are rained out get the fee credited against the next season; the pages we checked don't say what happens to single bookings when it rains, so ask at the counter.
Fixed weekly slots: the seasonal lottery
The venue also offers seasonal rental (季租): the unit is a 2-hour slot starting on an even hour, on the same court and the same day each week, paid by the quarter and allocated by lottery. Applicants must be at least 20 years old and can register for only one slot, and duplicate registrations lose their place in the draw. Slots still empty after the lottery open for online, phone or counter booking. Existing seasonal renters must renew and pay at the counter within the period the venue announces, or they are treated as giving up the renewal. Ask at the 1F service desk for the details of seasonal rental.
New Taipei riverside courts (新北市政府高灘地工程管理處)
Since December 1, 2025, riverside venues managed by New Taipei's 高灘處 (riverside parks management office) have been open to online applications. Individuals can apply only for sports venues such as basketball and tennis courts, and need to register a 「新北市民會員」 ("New Taipei citizen member") account first, which you can do even if you aren't a New Taipei resident. The office lists 8 tennis court sites: 土城媽祖田 (Mazutian, Tucheng), 板橋湳仔溝抽水站旁 (beside the Nanzaigou pumping station, Banqiao), 新店小碧潭 (Xiaobitan, Xindian), 永和福和 and 綠寶石 (Fuhe and Lübaoshi, both in Yonghe), 蘆洲蘆堤 (Ludi, Luzhou), 八里水興宮 (Shuixinggong, Bali) and 三重龍門 (Longmen, Sanchong).
- Go to the online venue application system, read the notes, and log in.
Figure: Notes on the New Taipei riverside park venue application system (staff names blacked out). Source: Online venue application, screenshot taken October 9, 2026. - In the system, check which slots are available in real time, choose a court and slot, and fill in the application; the system estimates the fee automatically. Each tennis court also has a public weekly calendar on the office's website, marked 「可申請」 (available to apply) or 「不可申請」 (not available).
Figure: The weekly calendar for the 龍門 (Longmen) tennis courts on the office's website, marked 「可申請」 (available) or 「不可申請」 (not available). Source: Longmen tennis court calendar, screenshot taken October 9, 2026. - Apply between 10 days and 1 year before the use date; when two or more people register for the same slot, whoever applied first gets it. Pay within 2 weeks of approval, or, if approval comes less than 2 weeks before the use date, pay in full at least 3 days before use.
The fee is NT$600 per court per session on weekdays and NT$800 on holidays; a session is 4 hours (08:00–12:00, 13:00–17:00 or 18:00–22:00), and tennis use of 2 hours or less counts as half a session. Slots nobody has applied for are open to the public to use freely. Once you've applied, fees are not refunded except for force majeure; to postpone because of rain, the rule is to email the office before the booking date. If someone is using the slot you registered, tell the office's security staff. Paid coaching can book only Monday to Friday.

The office's tennis court rules, updated in September 2024, still say to apply on paper by hand or by post, which differs from the online applications available since December 2025. For questions about venue bookings, call (02)8969-9596, extensions 213 or 206.
New Taipei City Sports Department venues: Shulin clay courts and Xinzhuang
The 樹林場區 (Shulin site) of 新北市政府體育局 (the New Taipei City Sports Department) has 8 standard clay courts, and 新莊網球暨桌球場 (the Xinzhuang tennis and table tennis venue) has 6 courts with a synthetic rubber surface and night lighting. At both, individual use (a daily ticket) costs NT$60 per hour by day and NT$120 per hour at night; day sessions run 06:00–18:00 (opening half an hour earlier from April to September) and night sessions 18:00–22:00. Court rental can be arranged by post, in person or through someone acting for you, and online applications cover venue registration only. The Shulin site's phone number is 02-8675-5082, and the Xinzhuang site's is 02-2998-1382 ext. 525.

Booking tips
- Check which courts can be booked. Not every Taipei riverside court is open for online booking: Rainbow Riverside Park and Bailing Riverside Park (Shezi side) both have courts reserved for on-site turns. On New Taipei's riverside courts, slots nobody has applied for are also open to use freely.
- Watch the 10-day rule. Taipei riverside courts must be applied for and paid at least 10 days before the use date, and cancelling for a refund needs written notice 10 days ahead too. For short-notice play, try the Tennis Center, bookable within 7 days; Taipei Tennis Court, within 3 days; or the Xinsheng Sports Center, within 8 days including the same day.
- Lights cost extra at night. Taipei riverside courts charge NT$80 per court per hour for night lighting, the Tennis Center charges NT$200 per court per hour for lights, and Taipei Tennis Court charges the night rate as soon as the lights are on.
- Rain rules differ. On Taipei riverside courts you can apply for a refund with proof; the Tennis Center charges by how long you'd been on court; Taipei Tennis Court gives a full refund if it rains before you start; and on New Taipei's riverside courts, the rule for a rain postponement is to email before the booking date.
- Typhoon days. When Taipei City announces a suspension of work, the Taipei Tennis Center closes; when it announces a suspension of work and school, the whole Xinsheng Sports Center closes.
How Flex players book courts
In Flex Tennis Taiwan's Taipei league, you and your opponent decide the match time and court together and split the court fee. Players play at public courts, clubs, condo courts or our partner courts. Among the match locations players reported in the 2025 winter season, common ones included Rainbow Riverside Park, Shuangyuan, 華中 (Huazhong), 林口第二運動公園 (Linkou Second Sports Park), 青年公園 (Youth Park) and Yucheng Park. Flex groups players by level, and during the season you agree the time and choose the court with your opponent; if that's the kind of match you're after, take a look at the Flex Taipei tennis league.
Flex's partner-court list includes 樹林紅土網球中心 (Shulin clay court tennis center), at No. 90, Xicheng Road, Banqiao District, New Taipei (新北市板橋區溪城路90號), phone 02-8685-9766. That name doesn't appear on the New Taipei City Sports Department's official page for its Shulin site, and it hasn't been confirmed whether the two are the same venue. During the league, registered Flex players get buy-one-get-one court time in off-peak hours on weekdays and holidays (07:00–11:00 and 14:00–17:00), so two hours cost NT$200 in total. Call at least 24 hours ahead, say the booking is for the Flex Tennis league, and show your profile page on the Flex website when you arrive.
